The role
As a senior Data Technology Engineer, you will be designing, developing, and maintaining state of the art data pipelines services for the company, using Kafka, AWS, Hadoop, and python.You work closely together with other data engineers, and technical and enterprise architects.You will be part of the Data & Analytics team. The team is responsible for designing, building and maintaining data solutions that are business critical for our platform. We are a fast-growing team that works with modern technologies in a dynamic environment.At CarNext.com you will be a technical expert with huge impact. Your responsibilities
Architect, design and implement company data lake;Design, develop, maintain and monitor company data pipelines;Develop, test, deploy and maintain distributed/scalable data processing applications (microservices);Automate and monitor entire software development cycle;Communicate, share and present the team’s achievements with other teams;Participate in knowledge sharing with other colleagues; |
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related fields
Required qualifications
- Data lake management tooling (AWS Lake formation)
- Micro-services-based architecture
- Big data technologies (eg: Hadoop, Hive, Spark)
- 4+ years work experience in a similar position (Data Engineering or related data developer role) using relevant modern technologies
- Strong understanding of data structures and algorithmic complexity;
- Strong skills in one or more programming languages related to data engineering (such as Scala, Python);
- Hands on experience with streaming data processing frameworks (such as Spark Streaming, Kafka streams, Apache Beam [at least 1], etc)
- Hands on experience ingesting and storing data in the Hadoop environments (such as EMR, CDH, HDP [at least 1], etc)
- Hands on experience using Cloud environments and their services (either of AWS, GCP, Azure [at least 1]);
- Hands on experience in continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) tooling;
- Having skills in Linux bash/shell scripting is considered as a plus;
- Fluency in English – written and spoken;
- Excellent communication and social skills, and an effective, collaborative team player;
